Many pretty things...

Another place I like to patron is Global Gifts.  They have many pretty and fun things from around the world.  Their prices are reasonable and I'm helping artisans in less developed countries.  They really have some fun kid stuff and I especially like their jewelry.

Cider days

I enjoy a hard cider.  Woodchuck is a favorite brand.

Life is just a game...

...a board game.  Along the lines of things I'm nostalgic for, the Game of Life falls into it's place.  It was my absolute favorite board game and I wouldn't mind having one of my own now that I'm an adult.  The older versions are better than a new one from the toy store , but I'm not sure those are available anymore.

Girls go to Mars to get more candy bars

My all time favorite candy bar is a Snickers.

A girl detective...

...that's what I wanted to be growing up.  So I loved Nancy Drew books, and I still do.  Now that I have kids, I like to read them again, so I've started a collection.  There are 56 of the orginal series before plot revisions and those are my favorite. In the city

One of my favorite stores is really two.  Silver & Home in the City on Mass Ave in Indy.  I love both sides of the store.  The jewelry is fun and and I want all the home stuff.

23 flavors of carbonated goodness

Periodically, around lunchtime, I need to go visit the doctor.  I love that Dr. Pepper makes housecalls.  One can of that and I have a smile on my face and energy to play with my kids till for the rest of the afternoon.

  



Stylized Art Birds

I like birds.  But only of the stylized variety.  Charley Harper's Birds are a good example.



I find the geometric forms in his work visually appealing. 


I also enjoy a simple line drawing of birds, though not too realistic.  Like the ones below.

Alcott girls

I love Louisa May Alcott books.  I like her strong female characters and I find alot of value in the ideas that she imparts, particularly in educational ideas.  So I would love to have all of her books.  I have a few already; Little Women, Little Men, Eight Cousins, and An Old Fashioned Girl.  The rest I need to add to my collection.

Sweet & Sour

My husband would say that the title of this post is a good description of me.  I think he exaggerates.  But it does describe on of my favorite candies, Sweet Tarts.  

I can eat them till my teeth start aching, so addicting.  Yum!

Taking a break this post from food, I'd like to dedicate this favorite thing to the website Modcloth.com   I love, love, love their stuff.  Their clothes are awesome, but too expensive.  Their accessories rock and are affordable.  I spend too much time on that website looking at things I can't get.  But I love it and can't stop.

Chocolate & Cherries

I love dark chocolate covered cherries.  But not the squishy, runny kind.  The cherries have to be dried. My favorite comes from Washington State, Rainier area, though Target sells some tasty ones too.

Chocolate & Pretzels

Most of my favorite this involve food.  First on my list is milk chocolate covered pretzels.  Yum!  Normally, I'm a dark chocolate girl all around, but something about milk chocolate on pretzels makes me happy.
